Guidelines for Seeking Admission Into KSITM Programs


The Katsina State Institute Of Technology and Management KSITM, Katsina, is a new, state-of-the art Innovation Enterprise Institution (IEI) established under the Katsina State of Nigeria Law No. 8 of 2013. The Institute will run courses leading to the award of National Innovation Diploma (NID) in ICT and Business Studies, approved by the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE).

The Institute will also offer a wide range of professional and career enhancement programmes, seminars and workshops at advanced certificate and diploma levels. Our programmes are dual-path, with emphasis on both cognitive and practical skills. Enriched by world-class faculty and teaching facility, our goal is to nurture the development of the much-needed manpower in the ICT and business sectors for national growth.

In line with the above, the Institute hereby invites interested candidates to apply for admission into its National Innovation Diploma (NID) programmes shown below for the upcoming academic session:

School of Technology:


Two-year (full-time) National Innovation Diploma (NID) in:

Eligibility

School of Technology

I) NID in Computer Software Engineering (CSE)

   >> UTME Subject Combination

Applicants must have a score of 120 and above in JAMB-UTME in three of the following subjects:
Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Geography, or Agricultural Science.

   >> O’level Subjects

Five (5) O’level credit passes in not more than two sittings in English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and any other subject from the following:
Biology, Information Communication Technology (ICT)/Computer Studies, Basic Electricity/Applied Electricity, General Woodwork, General Metalwork/Auto-Mechanics, Agricultural Science/Animal Husbandry, Geography, Technical Writing/Building/Engineering Drawing, Further Mathematics, Statistics, Foods and Nutrition/Hotel and Catering, Health Science.

II) NID in Networking and System Security (NSS)

   >> UTME Subject Combination

Applicants must have a score of 110 and above in JAMB-UTME from three of the following subjects:

Mathematics, Physics and one other subject from the following:
Chemistry, Biology, Geography or Agricultural Science.

   >> O’level Subjects

Five (5) O’level credit passes in not more than two sittings in English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and any other subject from the following:

Biology, Information Communication Technology (ICT)/Computer Studies, Basic Electricity/Applied Electricity, General Woodwork, General Metalwork/Auto-Mechanics, Agricultural Science/Animal Husbandry, Geography, Technical Writing/Building/Engineering Drawing, Further Mathematics, Statistics, Foods and Nutrition/Hotel and Catering, Health Science.

 

III) NID in Multimedia Technology (MMP)

   >> UTME Subject Combination

Applicants must have a score of atleast 100 and above in JAMB-UTME in three of the following subjects:

Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics, Geography, Agricultural Science and Economics.

   >> O’level Subjects

Five (5) O’level credit passes in not more than two sittings in English Language, Mathematics, and three other subject from the following:
Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Agricultural Science, Fine Art/Technical Drawing, Economics, History, Literature in English and Geography.


IV) NID in Computer Hardware Engineering Technology (CHE)

   >> UTME Subject Combination

Applicants must have a score of atleast 100 and above in JAMB-UTME in three of the following subjects:

English Language and any other three (3) subjects from the following: Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Metal works, Technical Drawing, Basic Electronics, Biology or Agricultural Science, Geography, Further Mathematics, ICT, Computer Studies, General Woodwork, General Metalwork/Auto-Mechanic, Basic Electricity or Applied Electricity, Technical Writing/Building/Engineering Drawing and Statistics.

   >> O’level Subjects

Five (5) O’level credit passes in not more than two sittings in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, English Language and any other one subject from the following:
Metal works, Technical Drawing, Basic Electronics, Biology or Agricultural Science, Geography, Further Mathematics, ICT, Computer Studies, General Woodwork, General Metalwork/Auto-Mechanic, Basic Electricity or Applied Electricity, Technical Writing/Building/Engineering Drawing and Statistics.


V) NID in Business Informatics (BI)

   >> UTME Subject Combination

Applicants must have a score of atleast 110 and above accross the following JAMB-UTME subjects combinations:
English Language and any other three (3) subjects from the following: Mathematics, Economics/Commerce, Business Methods, Principles of Accounts, ICT, Geography, Government, Agricultural Science/Biology, Physics, Chemistry, Civic Education, Insurance, Data Processing, Book Keeping, Store Keeping, Office Practice, Shorthand, Stores Management, Computer Studies, Marketing and Accounting.

   >> O’level Subjects

Five (5) O’level credit passes in not more than two sittings in English Language, Mathematics, Economics/Commerce (Literature in English and Oral English are not acceptable in place of English Language) and any other two subjects from the following:
Business Methods, Principles of Accounts, ICT, Geography, Government, Agricultural Science/Biology, Physics Chemistry, Civic Education, Insurance, Data Processing, Book Keeping, Store Keeping, Office Practice, Shorthand, Stores Management, Computer Studies, Marketing and Accounting.


VI) NID in Security Management and Technology (SMT)

   >> UTME Subject Combination

Applicants must have a score of atleast 110 and above accross the following JAMB-UTME subjects combinations:
English Language and any other three (3) subjects in Arts or Sciences.

   >> O’level Subjects

Five (5) O’level credit passes in not more than two sittings in English Language, Mathematics and any other three subjects



School of Management

I) NID in Banking Operations (BOP)

   >> UTME Subject Combination

Applicants must have a score of atleast 110 and above accross the following JAMB-UTME subjects combinations:
English Language and any other three (3) subjects from the following: Mathematics, Economics, Geography, Government, Commerce or Principles of Accounts.

   >> O’level Subjects

Five (5) O’level credit passes in not more than two sittings in English Language, Mathematics, Economics and any other subject from the following:
Commerce, Business Methods, Government, Civic Education, Biology/Agricultural Science, Computer Studies, Home Management, History, Geography, Literature in English, Stores Management, Financial Accounts, Shorthand, Office Practice, Insurance, Tourism, Data Processing, Store Keeping, Book keeping, Animal Husbandry, Marketing, Salesmanship, Insurance, Civic Education and Principles of Cost Accounting.   


II) NID in Islamic Banking & Finance (IBF)

   >> UTME Subject Combination

Applicants must have a score of atleast 110 and above accross the following JAMB-UTME subjects combinations:
English Language and any other three (3) subjects from the following: Economics, Business Methods, Principles of Accounts, Islamic Religious Studies (IRS), Literature in English, Commerce, History, Statistics, Geography, Government, Marketing, Agricultural Science/Biology, Civic Education, Insurance, Data Processing, Book Keeping, Store Keeping, Office Practice, Shorthand, Stores Management, Computer Studies, and Accounting.

   >> O’level Subjects

Five (5) O’level credit passes in English Language, Mathematics and any other three subjects from the following:
Economics, Business Methods, Principles of Accounts, Islamic Religious Studies (IRS), Literature in English, Commerce, History, Statistics, Geography, Government, Marketing and Agricultural Science/Biology Civic Education, Insurance, Data Processing, Book Keeping, Store Keeping, Office Practice, Shorthand, Stores Management, Computer Studies, Marketing and Accounting obtained at not more than two sittings; or Candidates with ND, HND or Bachelor’s degree who wish to re-skill or those with Certificate in related Financial and Business Studies with good standing work experience from the Banking and Finance Industry can be considered.


Application and Screening Payment Procedure

Eligible candidates are required to make a non–refundable payment of N2,300.00 (Two thousand, three hundred Naira) only for the Post-UTME screening via the payment gateway as contained on the application portal.

NOTE

1. Candidate must choose Katsina state Institute of Technology and Management (KSITM) as first choice, otherwise should proceed to JAMB Portal (Profile) and apply for change of Institute.

2. Upon Applying, a Screening exercise is scheduled for the successfull applicants. Date and Time of the scheduled exercise is typhically communicated accordingly.

3. Candidates are advised to keep evidence of their payment (receipt) and application slip for reference purposes.
