Katsina State Institute of Technology and Management has matriculated five hundred and fifty nine (559) students for the 2019/2020 academic session.
The Matriculation ceremony held at the School of Technology Auditorium was attended by the Commissioner of Ministry of Science Technology and Innovation who was represented by the Permanent Secretary Alh. Yusuf Mu’azu, members of the Governing Council and Management Staff of the Institute.
In a welcome address, the Rector Dr. Babangida Abubakar Albaba highlighted the remarkable successes recorded by the Institute which include the approval by the National Board of Technical Education (NBTE) for the additional streams in Banking Operations, Computer Software Engineering as well Networking and System Security Courses.
The Rector admonished the students to shun any form of social vices and to remain committed to their studies to enable them become responsible members of the society.
In his remarks, the Permanent Secretary Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation Alh. Yusuf Mu’azu said the State Government is making effort to amend the law which establish the Institute to enable it attain the status of a full pledged Polytechnic.
Similarly, the Institute has organized an orientation exercise for the matriculated students where several papers on dangers of drugs abuse, Institute Regulations, Security and Ethics were presented by the Resource Persons.
