Katsina State Institute of Technology and Management has matriculated it's newly admitted students for the year 2020/2021 academic session.
The event which took place at the school of management auditorium was attended by the commissioner of science Technology and Innovations Dr. Rabe Nasir, the Special Adviser on Youths Development Alh Ibrahim Khalil Aminu among other members of academia.
The commissioner Dr. Rabe Nasir while conveying the Goodwill of Governor Aminu Bello Masari said the Government is proud of the Institute as it symbolises the government policy implementation on ICT.
The commissioner maintained that the current state Administration is doing a lot to uplifting the status of the Institute through the completion of it's infrastructure, recruitment of staff and paying attention to it's basic needs.
Dr. Rabe Nasir described KSITM as a unique Institute that is committed to providing quality ICT knowledge not only in the state but to the Nation as a whole.
He assured that the Government wlll continue to do whatever it takes to reinvigorate the activities of the Institute and commended the management for maintaining security, discipline and academic excellence.
In his address, the Rector Dr. Babangida Abubakar Albaba highlighted the remarkable successes being recorded by the Institute to include additional carrying capacity of students in it's NID programs and securing full accreditation for NID Multimedia Technology Program from the NBTE.
Similarly the Institute is making collaborative effort with relevant MDA's in both the state and Federal levels for ICT and enterpreneurial skills, adding that recently the Institute in collaboration with the office of the Head of Civil Service had organized an intensive ICT training workshop to 200 Directors under the state civil service.
Furthermore, a collaboration between the Institute and Petroleum Technology Development Fund (PTDF) is underway to train 36,000 Youths on ICT skills from across the 36 States of the Federation.
Dr. Babangida Abubakar Albaba stated that the Institute clinic had been granted accreditation to serve as the primary Healthcare provider by the National Healthcare Insurance scheme and the Katsina State Contributory Healthcare Scheme respectively.
The Rector expressed profound gratitude to Governor Aminu Bello Masari for his commitment and consistency toward the development of the Institute.
Highlight of the event was the Administration of matriculation oath and orientation exercise to the newly admitted students.
